Islam For Kids 2

A well-known sister and caller to Allah/Qur'an teacher in Saudi named Nawal al-Jum'a passed away yesterday. Her news came as a shock to many because her health deteriorated suddenly and within 3 days, she returned to her Lord. We're so used to reading about brothers smiling during their death, but her friends who saw her in the funeral washing room say that her face was so pure and white...and her smile was so radiant. This woman was a true example of what sisters should be in Islam. She dedicated her life to memorizing and then teaching the Qur'an to girls in middle school, and for many years she was knowing for her 'musala' (prayer area). She would encourage so many girls to come and pray, let them give reminders, and make them love the Qur'an. Sister Nawal (rahimaha Allah) should be an example to all the Muslims sisters who aspire to make a change in their life: do it with the Qur'an. She is also a reminder for the sisters who waste their time in superficial matters, so engrossed with the beauty and fashion, while forgetting the beauty of Islam, Qur'an, and her own self worth coming from her modesty and conduct.

Being granted a good ending is not restricted to martyrs or to brothers only, even sisters are granted that as well. If you're a sister reading this...don't waste any more of your life. Go to Allah, learn Islam, wear hijab, drop those bad friends, cover your body, memorize the Qur'an, treat your husband kindly...live the life which will grant you everything you wanted. It's called happiness.

Our national flag was designed by a Hyderabadi Muslim woman by the name of Suraiya Tayyabji and not by Pingali Venkaiah as is widely believed, according to Voice of Telangana president Capt. L Panduranga Reddy.
At a press conference here on Monday, Panduranga Reddy said the popular belief wes that in 1921 the All India Congress Committee meeting was held at Bezawada (Vijayawada) wherein Pingali Venkaiah, a Congress volunteer designed a tri-coloured flag and presented it to Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi was reportedly impressed by the design and passed it on to the working committee. In deference to the wishes of Gandhi, the Congress adopted the flag and subsequently it went on to become the national flag. But the truth is that the national flag was designed by a Hyderabadi Muslim woman, Suraiya Tayyabji.

SAJDAH

Sajdah is a unique position as this is the only position in which brain (or head) becomes lower than the heart and hence for the first time the blood gushes towards the brain with full force whereas in all other positions (even when lying) brain is above the heart when it has to work against gravity to send blood to the brain.

In the position of Sajdah due to the increased blood supply the brain receive more nourishment and it has good effect upon memory, vision, hearing, concentration, psyche and all other cognitive abilities. People who offer their prayers regularly have more will power and can cope with the difficulties of life in a much better manner. They have less incidences of headaches, psychological problems and other defects of cognitive function.” (Article by Dr. Muhammad Karim Beebani)

To conclude, I would say that if one wants to be effective and efficient in all walks of life, one must throw oneself down. The more you throw yourself down in prostration, the more productive you become in your life! Remember, through Sajdah, you lift your status, lift yourself!
